ABOUT THE CRAFTSMAN
I can’t remember exactly how old I was when my DAD gave me a hammer and a bag of shingle nails, plus a cut log top. In one day I had pounded the whole bag neatly touching each other into the top of the wood block,,, maybe 2 feet diameter. My next hammer experience was touching up the piano keys-----never missed one key! My DAD had to file every key flush. I can’t remember if I got a licken for that or not? My next experience was helping DAD build granaries on the farm,,, my job was to straighten used nails so they could be used again!
Growing up, wood was always my passion, from a go kart, slingshots, home made wooden guns, plus many forgotten projects, I thought I could make anything out of wood. Later in life I built a 2500 square foot basement 10 feet high, 2” by 10” studs 1 foot on centres, wall, out of preserved wood to accommodate a new home. My DAD helped me. After two days trying to square the diagonals to less than 1/2” difference, my DAD said “ Jerry it’s good enough”! I was always a perfectionist.
I truly believe that perfectionism will be evident in all I have designed and built that is currently on my web site for sale. I have chosen to use 98% exotic wood mostly from Florida! All of my work is ONE OF A KIND, finished to 400 grit except the bottoms of cutting boards and food serving trays—that finish is to 220 grit.
Thanking you for checking my web site out!
